MiFID

The Directive 2004/39/ЕC of the European Union on market of financial instruments (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive – MiFID) came into force on 1st of November, 2007 and its goal is to define unified requirements for investment services in 30 member-states of European economic area. This will secure safety of the customer, encourage competence and make the market more transparent.

In accordance with the Directive, some amendments have been made to Latvian legal acts, mainly to the Financial Instruments Market Law.

According to the requirements of the law, Danske Banka confirmed the following documents, which are components of the Agreement on Financial Instrument Accounts Services:

  • General Terms of the Agreement on Financial Instrument Accounts Services
  • Order Execution Policy with regard to financial instruments
  • Policy For Establishing Client’s Status
  • Financial Instrument Risk Description
  • Investor’s Safety Terms
  • Resume of Interest conflict prevention policy
