Information on Estonia’s transition to Euro
Dear customers!
We would like to remind you that on January 1st, 2011 Estonia will transfer from its currency EEK (Estonian kroon) to EUR (Euro).
Please find enclosed information concerning changes related to the transition process:
- Cash transactions with EEK at Danske Banka customer service centres will be possible until December 22nd (including).
- If you have an EEK account in the Bank, you are kindly requested to convert money on the account until 4 pm on December 30th. You can convert money at the Bank’s customer service centre at your choice or use the E-bank.
- The Bank will close your EEK account on December 30th, 2010. If there is any money in Estonian kroon on your account the Bank will convert it automatically to Euro based upon the currency exchange rate set by the Bank of Estonia 1 Euro = 15.6466 kroon free of any commission fee.
- No payments in Estonian kroon will be accepted as from January 1st, 2011.
Acceptance of EEK payments
You are kindly requested to note that the deadline by which the Bank accepts an EEK payment may differ depending on the type of payment.
